Advanced Medical Life Support - AMLS
This AMLS course is designed for all levels of healthcare providers. AMLS is the first course that offers a "think-outside-the-box" method of assessing and managing a patient in medical crisis. It emphasizes using scene size up, interactive group discussion on potential treatment strategies, history, and probabilities in diagnosing a patient's medical problem. AMLS implements an initial assessment-based approach that progresses to a diagnostic-based approach to develop a treatment plan for a specific medical condition. This 16 hour, two-day program consists of interactive lectures, teaching and evaluation stations. The interactive/case based lectures include the following topics: Patient Assessment, Airway Management, , Assessment of the Shock Patient, Dyspnea/ Respiratory Failure, Chest Pain, altered Mental Status, and Abdominal Pain. Teaching stations follow the associated lectures each day.
