JAMES H. CARWILE
I am very sad to report the death of Jim Carwile, Millwood Station Fire & Rescue Squad life member, although another star shines in heaven..............................
Jim Carwile was probably the best known charter members of the Winchester Volunteer Rescue Squad and the last surviving Charter Member from the Winchester Volunteer Rescue Squad, served the Squad the longest and had been a part of the Squad family for 52 years.
For the next forty plus years, Jim was a dedicated member who truly reached out to the Winchester - Frederick County community. Many people regarded him as "Mr. Rescue Squad" because of his ongoing devotion of assisting his fellow man, via the Rescue Squad.
Whenever someone in the Squad, Auxiliary or their family passed away, Jim was there to pay his respects, on behalf of the Squad. Just knowing Jim was there, was a comfort to those whose beloved family member went on, so you believed all would be ok.
He served the Squad as President and VP and was always reaching out to the community in some capacity, whether serving as an officer, pulling duty or taking someone's BP.
Many people seek fame, but Jim was a man of pure conviction, dedication and simply put was a true Rescue Squad servant whose first duty was helping others. He was a humble man but his deeds were great and exceeded all others.

Wanted to give you update on Rodger. The doctor has put him out of work. He is having a problem with his right eye and numbness in the right side of his face.
The doctor has done several test to try to find out what is going on but so far he doesn't have an answer. We also found out that this doctor works with patients that have the white matter brain disease, but they are in their 70's and 80's, not in the 50's. He told Rodger that he wanted to get his eye fixed and then he would work on the brain disease.
Rodger's condition has changed a lot in the past year. Sandra does all of the driving now.
We miss all of you and hope to see at a District Meeting or at a convention
Love, Sandra.
