Special Events
Rescue College
The 37th Annual State Rescue College will be held June 9 - 17, 2012 at The
Inn at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. The college offers all VAVRS courses at both
the basic and instructor level. The VAVRS was excited to also host the EMT-B
Instructor Institute in conjunction with the Office of EMS.

Convention
The 78th Annual VAVRS Convention will be held September 26 - 29,
2012--Virginia Beach
Each year the Association hosts a convention in the last week of September, for
learning new techniques through medical seminars, enjoying competition and
participating in educational and social activities. The event offers VAVRS members
the opportunity to have input on the function and mission of the association during
business meetings and election of officers. The convention hosts one of the largest
EMS product shows on the east coast, featuring vendors of EMS related equipment,
supplies, vehicles and clothing.
Spring BOG Meeting
There are semi-annual business meetings at which each member squad has one vote.
The Spring Board of Governors Meeting will be held April 14, 2012 at the Koger Center - Richmond.
District Meetings
The Association is divided into 10 districts. Each district has a meeting every
two or three months that keep the squads abreast on the latest information, their
skills sharpened by competing in contests, and having fun while enjoying a good
meal together.
